Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data BodyBuilder AI™ ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and your rights. Plain English version: we collect the minimum needed to give you a working coach, your photos stay on your device, and we don't sell anything to anyone.

1. What we collect

Profile info you give us at intake — age, sex, height, weight, training experience, goal, days per week, equipment, injuries, lagging body parts, and your personal goals. This is what makes your program personal.
Photos you upload for check-ins — front, side, back, posed shots of your physique.
Chat messages you send the AI coach.
Payment info — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We only receive a confirmation that you paid, and your email + name from the receipt.
Basic device info — browser type, screen size, and IP address are logged by our hosting provider (Netlify) for security and fraud prevention.

2. Where your data lives

This is important:

Your profile, workouts, meal plans, chat history, check-in history, and uploaded photos are stored locally in your browser's storage on the device you're using. They do NOT live on our servers in a database. If you clear your browser data or use a different device, you start fresh.
When you submit a photo for analysis, it is sent to our backend, immediately forwarded to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing, and the result is returned to you. We do not save the photo on our servers after that round-trip.
Stripe stores your payment data per their privacy policy.

3. Third-party services we use

Anthropic (Claude AI) — processes your prompts and photos to generate workouts, meal plans, and check-in analyses. Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Stripe — processes all payments. Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Netlify — hosts our website and serverless functions. Netlify's Privacy Policy.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising trackers on the app itself.

4. How we use your info

To generate your personalized program, meal plan, and check-in analyses
To process payments and provide subscription access
To respond when you email us for support
To improve the Service (anonymized, aggregate trends only)

We do not:

Sell your personal data, photos, or any other info to anyone
Use your photos for AI training
Share your data with advertisers
Email you marketing without your consent

5. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the data we have on you (mostly just your Stripe payment record — your app data is on your own device)
Delete your data — clear your browser storage to remove app data, cancel subscription to stop payment processing, and email us to request deletion of any backend records
Cancel your subscription at any time via the link in your Stripe receipt
Opt out of any future marketing emails (we won't send them without consent anyway)

6. Cookies and similar tech

The app uses localStorage (a browser feature) to save your program, check-ins, and preferences on your device — this is how the app works offline and remembers you between visits. We don't use third-party cookies or cross-site tracking.

7. Children

The Service is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the Service, contact us and we'll delete the data immediately.

8. Security

We use HTTPS everywhere, hand off payments to Stripe (PCI-compliant), and don't store sensitive personal data on our servers. That said, no system is 100% secure. Use a strong, unique password if you ever access account portals, and don't share your access link.

9. International users

If you're using the Service from outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other jurisdictions where our third-party providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification.
